Restart Homes was established with the specific purpose of tackling the homeless challenges that exist within the social housing sector in England

About Us

At Restart Homes, we're passionate about providing affordable housing solutions to individuals and families in need. Our team is led by individuals who share a passion for ending homelessness and reducing the number of voids in social housing, and is well-equipped to provide the highest quality of service to our clients. Our mission is to help those who struggle to find suitable and comfortable housing, by connecting them with social landlords.

Restart Homes was founded with the goal of addressing the growing number of homelessness and the need for affordable housing in the UK. Our team has extensive experience in the social housing sector and understands the unique challenges that come with finding suitable housing options. By partnering with local authorities and registered homeless charities, we’re able to provide an alternative approach to tackling homelessness and increasing the availability of affordable housing options. We strive to make a positive impact on the lives of our clients by providing efficient and effective solutions that lead to decreased void turnaround times and reduced costs.

New research from Shelter shows at least 271,000 people are recorded as homeless in England, including 123,000 children.

The homelessness charity Shelter has said temporary accommodation is "not proving to be temporary at all" pointing out that some families have been in this accommodation for over ten years.

Analysis of expenditure by local authorities over 2021/22 reportedly showed councils spent at least £1.6 billion on temporary accommodation

Most of the beneficiaries of this expenditure are often on private providers. Shelter (2020) suggested a lucrative private market has developed in which brokers and landlords are exploiting the difficulties authorities face in sourcing temporary accommodation
